Going to France soon?

You know what you want to say… until someone actually speaks to you

Many adults can remember a few French words from school. You may know bonjour, merci, and perhaps how to ask for a coffee.

But holiday situations can feel different. You walk into a supermarket and cannot find what you need. The campsite receptionist asks a question. The waiter replies quickly. The train platform changes. You need help at the pharmacy.

Suddenly, your mind goes blank.

This printable cheat-sheet pack is designed to give you simple, useful phrases you can practise before you travel and keep with you during your holiday.

This pack helps with moments like:

  • Ordering food and drinks
  • Asking for the bill
  • Shopping in supermarkets and markets
  • Checking into campsites or accommodation
  • Finding your way at airports and train stations
  • Hiring a car or asking about parking
  • Visiting a pharmacy
  • Knowing what to say when you do not understand

Why this pack is different

This is not a massive phrasebook you will never open

A traditional phrasebook can be useful, but it can also feel overwhelming. There are too many phrases, too many sections, and too much to find quickly when you are standing in a queue.

This pack is designed around the situations you are most likely to face on holiday, with clear phrases you can actually use.

This pack is not about:

  • Learning complicated grammar
  • Memorising hundreds of phrases
  • Studying like you are back at school
  • Trying to become fluent overnight

It is about:

  • Feeling more prepared before you travel
  • Knowing useful phrases for real moments
  • Having rescue phrases when you get stuck
  • Practising little and often
  • Taking the first step towards speaking with confidence

Created by Caroline

A French tutor who understands how adults learn

The Printable Holiday French Cheat-Sheet Pack has been created by Caroline, a French national living and working in the UK as a French tutor and part-time French teacher in a local school.

Caroline teaches French in person and online, supporting students with GCSE and A-Level French, as well as adults who want to learn French for travel, long-term confidence and everyday use.

After receiving more enquiries from adults asking for practical “emergency French” before a holiday, Caroline created this pack to help people feel more prepared before travelling to France.

Her approach is simple: learning French as an adult should be useful, friendly and enjoyable. Because when learning feels fun, you are much more likely to remember it.

The 6-week programme helps you practise:
